Epicerie Gourmande, Lorie Valley

Tours and the Loire valey always have a place in my heart.The locals in the surrounding area have realised the tremendous potential of the tourist trade and little eating-places have sprung up all over the place. I had a midday meal in the Epicerie Gourmande (above), a lovely little family restaurant in the back of a grocers in Villandry. The locally produced beer and wines were superb as were the cured meats and traditionally made pâtés.
