The Vikings – a
people hell bent on barbaric raiding and pillaging or forward-thinking
philanthropic tradesmen and explorers?
The British Museum
is planning a major Viking exhibition in 2014, but if you want to find visit
their homeland to find out more, why not join Hurtigruten’s ‘Voyage of the
Vikings’ - a 12 day trip accompanied by British Museum curator and Viking
expert, Gareth Williams. Gareth, who is
the lead curator of the forthcoming exhibition, will be giving lectures on-board
as well as accompanying tours.
The voyage is a
round trip from Bergen to Kirkenes and back with numerous relevant stops
en-route.
A Viking Feast is
included, where you will join the chieftain and his wife in a reconstruction of
the largest Viking longhouse ever discovered and will be regaled with stories

to truly immerse themselves in Viking heritage, there is also an opportunity to
extend your stay to include a visit to Oslo where you can visit the Viking
Museum, home to genuine relics of the Viking age, including an original long

departs on 9 September 2014 and costs from £2,282 per person including flights,
cabin on full board basis and airport transfers.

not offered in the summer months.

made by 31 October (subject to availability). Customers booking a ‘Classic
Voyage’ before the end of October 2013, for travel in April or August 2014 will
also receive the benefit of £120 on-board credit.
The overall
lead-in price for the 2014 programme is £811 per person for the five
night Classic Voyage South on full board basis (excluding flights, but including
early booking offer).
