most-desirable aquatic playgrounds. The Abrolhos Islands are well-known as the
home of the state’s lucrative rock lobster fishery however they also attract
aquatic adventurers who revel in stories of ship-wreck and murderous mutiny. An
opportunity to snorkel the 1629 wreck of the Batavia is definitely one of the cruise
highlights and accounts of the wreck’s hapless survivors never fail to intrigue.
But the islands are also a naturalist’s delight and the fishers on-board will
have every chance of catching one of the finest eating fish in the ocean - the
highly regarded Westralian jewfish!
